Nostalgic Music Thread

I hadn't heard this before - IMO Madman is his best song from his best album.

This version is extremely good. Thanks for posting it.
You are welcome. It is a great version of a brilliant song.

Of note. The Ronson version is the original version of Madman and was recorded during the "Tumbleweed Connection" sessions but never made it onto that album. They re-recorded it the following year for the Madman album.

This morning I heard this Dylan gem on Sirius's "Deep Tracks" - I had forgotten all about it for over 30 years since the KTCL days:

In my opinion John Denver is the Tom Brady of Folk Singers, the Greatest of All Time. I'm lucky enough to have seen him thrice because my Mom was a huge fan of his when I was a kid. I wish I could have seen him when I was old enough to appreciate his genius, but I'm fortunate to have seen him live at all. A true legend.

I love oldies, they're one of the things that make me feel good in life.

When fall rolls around each year, this is a song that always pops back into my mind - from the late 70's, great stuff by Poco:

Back when music was indeed something special:

Some Bobbie Gentry.

And one more Mary Hopkin gem, courtesy of Paul McCartney:

I always felt that this song was the ideal way to end this great album: Van the Man - Slim Slow Slider

Bohemian Rhapsody - Green Day fan style

Yea Pneumonic, Van the Man.

When October rolls around, this one by him is probably my favorite autumn song of all time:

Yepper, great funky fall song indeed, RN. It is often played this time of the year when we are up at the cottage.

Song: Mister Magic
Artist: Grover Washington, Jr.

I have listened to the music of Miles Davis, John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, and other so-called giants of the jazz world.

Frankly, their music doesn't do all that much for me.

But only a few years later, jazz went in a different direction. And, I think, it got a lot better.

The lead track off such a polarizing Springsteen album. I happen to love the album but many don't.

Some Alan Parsons Project here. Title tracks from their "Turn of a Friendly Card" album.

Some "Hooker n Heat" What I wouldn't give to have been at this:

So much musical talent on display in this gem from Stephen Stills.

Song: Strut Your Stuff
Artist: Tom Scott And The L.A. Express

<iframe width="560" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/VRYpacw42xI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

From the eponymous 1973 album. This version of the Express had Larry Carleton on guitar and Joe Sample on keyboards.

Parts of it sound a little like the SNL original opening theme music to me. It predates the show by a couple of years.

Another one gone way before his time:
